What is Care & Repair Cymru?

Care & Repair Cymru is the national body that actively works to ensure that all older people have homes that are safe, secure and appropriate to their needs. This is achieved by listening to the needs and desires of older people and articulating this information to policy makers at the National Assembly for Wales. Care & Repair Cymru is able to access the needs of older people through the all Wales coverage of local Care & Repair Agencies.

Care & Repair Cymru ensures support to Care & Repair Agencies through a good practice and policy framework, that focuses on the housing, health and social care needs of older people.

What does Care & Repair Cymru do?

Care & Repair Cymru develops, supports and evaluates the work of Care & Repair Agencies across Wales. This is undertaken through a review process on a quarterly and annual basis. Individual Officers work with Care & Repair Agencies providing support and information.

On the national stage, Care & Repair Cymru provides information and advice to the Welsh Assembly Government. This is done by being part of strategy and policy development partnerships, with the Welsh Assembly Government and others. Care & Repair Cymru also provides information on the need for and use of the Care & Repair service.

Care & Repair Cymru is committed to making sure that all older and disabled people in Wales have a home that is warm, safe and secure and is appropriate to the needs of the individual.
