Care & Repair scoops entrepreneurial award

Blaenau Gwent & Caerphilly Care & Repair has been recognised at Blaenau Gwent’s first Business Awards at an event held earlier this month.

The Care & Repair Agency scooped the Social Enterprise of the Year Award ahead of stiff opposition from Aneurin Leisure Trust and Llanhilleth Miners Institute.

Pat Jones, the Agency’s CEO said: “We were thrilled to be recognised for the work that we do, our aim is to help older people live in warm, safe and well-maintained homes, independently in their own communities.  This award we hope will help to raise our profile and hopefully encourage our partners and funders to invest more in our services.”

Working across the two counties, the agency operates as a ‘problem-led, person centred’ service through home visiting caseworkers, who provide a Healthy Home assessment, and a technical specification and supervision of home adaptations, repairs and renovation provided by qualified technical officers.  Its in-house practical Handyperson service provides a trustworthy, good value and professional option for all those small jobs around the home.

Like all Care & Repair Agencies, the service is built on the core values of dignity, respect and empowerment: providing a bespoke service that gets it right for each individual client.
