New Partnership with Energy Relief

28 June 2016

Care & Repair Cymru is pleased to announce their partnership with Energy Relief. The first not for profit energy switching site in the UK, based in Wales, where you decide exactly where your switching fee goes.

Launched in Spring 2016 Energy Relief’s mission is to generate millions for charities and community projects by helping people save money on their domestic energy bills and donating the ‘switching fee’ to the consumers’ charity of choice.

How it works

Thousands of people across the UK switch their energy provider to ensure they have the best supplier for their needs and that they are getting the best deal[1]. Unbeknown to many switching site users, the average fee for every switch is approximately £20 for a single fuel and £40 for a dual fuel (electricity and gas), which goes in to the pocket of the switching provider.

Energy Relief donate 100% of the switching fee back into the community, with the user choosing which charity or project they’d like to donate their switching fee to at the end of each switch.

The switching engine’ that energy relief use is approved by Ofgem[2] which means consumers can take confidence when using the site of the rates displayed and their validity.

Chris Jones, Chief Executive of Care & Repair Cymru said:  We are delighted to be a part of this revolutionary idea. Anyone thinking of switching their energy supplier to save money can now support Care & Repair Cymru at the same time and help us, help older people across Wales stay warm & safe in their own homes.

Nick Proctor, the Co- Founder of Energy Relief commented, ‘I’m delighted to have Care & Repair Cymru is on board with Energy Relief. The opportunity to generate money for such a great cause through the site is why we set Energy Relief up in the first place. I can’t wait to hear how much we’ve raised a year from now.’
